The button layout is easy to understand for basic use. Press and lift the area indicated below. 3) Insert the two (2) “AA” cell batteries into the compartment as indicated. The Sleep Timer will automatically shut off the radio after the set amount of time expires. The display will cycle through minutes 90, 60, 30, 15, 120, and OFF. The BAND button can also be used to access station memory pages. This gives you 20 additional presets for AM and FM. AM and WX bands will play normally. This will also expand the FM band from 76 MHz to 108 MHz. 2. The rechargeable batteries: CC Pocket is calibrated to read the charge of your alkaline batteries, which is 1.5 volts at full charge. Rechargeable batteries, however, are fully charged at just 1.25 volts, and so your radio will show a partial charge even if the. No part of this booklet may be reproduced, in any form or. Sudipta Sarkar 2.0 out of 5 stars Battery is draining quickly!Seems well built. Excellent reception. Especially like: the antanna which plugs into headphone jack. So simple, yet effective.Sorry, we failed to record your vote.

Please try again I get the same stations on any radio and no AM stations like always, also the clock display never shuts off using power, speaker is ok but not good or great by any means, I was hoping to use Lithium Batteries, but the manual says no lithium. I would have returned it but I need a radio for my next trip, it is small and light and the antenna won't break off as its just a wire.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Great reception, high quality feel. I found some stations that I did not know actually existed some quite far from my region actually, this is really impressive. The supplied wire antenna helps a lot getting signals inside buildings. This is about the size of an Iphone 4, highly portable and after 3 X 12 hours of playing, the battery still shows full bars (Eneloops inside). Expensive for what it is, but quality comes at a price. Please try again Preforms well on both am and fm, nothing outstanding indoors but gets the job done 95% of the time. Which is fine for some casual morning listening. Preforms perfectly outdoors and gets great reception on both bands. Havn't been able to pick up a whole lot on the WB. I receive two channels somewhat poorly but audibly. The speaker in this guy is modest to say the least but thats to be expected. The volume knob seems to hardly turn the volume up much at all which i found a bit peculiar. Overall not an awful speaker given the CC's size just not impressive by any means. Headphones sound great as well as greatly improve the CC's sound and reception. 4 stars. Pretty fun and convenient albeit a little expensive pocket radio with overall good preformance.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Sorry, we failed to record your vote.

Please try again Once the favourite stations are stored in the memory it is a breeze to turn it on and off, switch between stations, and set the play duration of the chosen channel, all by easy and intuitive feel of the buttons. The other fabulous bonus is that the earpieces on the earphones fit comfortably in my small ear, and give great sound even with just one earpiece in use, which is a bonus if the other ear is buried deep in a pillow. The earphone wires do not get tangled up or become kinked with use, which has always been a major hassle with other makes. The actual radio is so small that I just tuck it under my pillow at night. If I awaken again after the playing time has expired, just one touch of a button will connect to the previous setting of station and duration. And if you have good eyesight the screen is backlit for clarity in the dark. My husband is happy that I am no longer fidgeting with my radio in the middle of the night, and I am happy that the sound quality of speech is so clear that I can have it set to a very low volume and still hear the programme. I give it a 10 out of 10.The battery life is also much longer than with other radios I have had, including expensive Sony ones, when they were made, which they are not any more. I think I shall buy another of these Crane radios to keep in reserve, and today a friend of mine, also an insomniac, is ordering one too, on my recommendation.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again I'm pleasantly surprised at the volume that this radio can handle without distorting sound, although it can sound slightly tinny at times. I received it in a very timely manner and can see that CCrane cares about the quality of their products. I will update my review about battery life and if there are any problems in the future. Get this radio for yourself, you won't be disappointed!Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again In terms of performing as a radio it is amazing for its size.

AM mode is extemely impressive and with the detailed menu options you can further reduce interference. No brainer for anyone who loves listening to live sports on AM.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again Would like to compare the two one day. It replaces on old Sony SW I had for years and years. Internet has all but made SW obsolete. I discovered that this radio will fit nicely into a Pelican 1015 case, with a little bit of pruning of the inside rubber liner (would press on certain buttons otherwise). Looking forward to lots of enjoyable listening at home and while travelling.Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again The radio works well, is set up well and is the perfect size. Finding the perfect portable radio for travel, use around the yard and in the house is always a challenge. This one operates both with its own speaker or with earbuds. 5 stars for sure!Sorry, we failed to record your vote. It competes head-to-head with the Sangean DT-400W and many readers have asked me to compare them so I will include that comparison as part of this report. The CC Pocket covers standard AM and FM as well as the 7 NOAA Weather Band frequencies and runs on 2 AA batteries. It has five easy to use memory buttons and it stands upright for convenience and best audio through the speaker. The sides are rubber coated to provide a firm grip and to help protect the radio if dropped.

It is not common for a radio to block a strong signal that overrides a favorite weaker station. The CC Pocket has excellent selectivity while providing maximum sensitivity to weak signal”. Some of these include dual bandwidths in AM mode (4 and 2.5 KHz) for increased selectivity when stations are crowded closely together along with selectable 1KHz tuning steps. You can also defeat the display in cases where this helps to reduce background noise. You can designate whether the display reverts to time or frequency when listening and you can disable the beep tone if desired. An antenna wire for FM and Weather Band when not using earbuds is included. For example. to activate the 1KHz tuning steps on AM you press memory buttons 1 and 4 simultaneously. Or to activate the narrow (2.5 KHz) AM filter you press buttons 1 and 3 simultaneously. Remember that while in Alert Mode there is a drain on the batteries so keep spares on hand. I compared it directly against the Sangean DT-400W which is also a good performer but each had areas of superiority. On FM the CC Pocket fairly trounced the Sangean primarily because of the CC’s absolutely superb selectivity, although both were very sensitive. Living at a high elevation in a suburban location I can receive FM signals from several states which means just about every frequency has a signal on it most of the time. The CC Pocket was able to separate most of these while the Sangean missed many because of bleed-over from adjacent channel signals. At night with many more strong AM signals on the dial the CC Pocket is phenomenal at separating them.Neither of these radios sounds as good through its speaker as the pocket portables I reviewed, but one doesn’t expect them to. The speakers are for utility use when earbuds or earphones are not convenient. Recommended. I hesitated to spend this much money. Why is this one better. CONS: none, CONSIDERING it is a POCKET RADIO. NO, it does NOT produce Hi Fidelity music!!:) but if you know the song, that's OK. Just hum along. I received it October 19, 2018, and I write this review Dec 20, 2018. I use it on a regular basis, although not all day every day.

The battery indicator has dropped one bar, but still working fine. I was waiting for the batteries to fail, before reviewing, since that has been the concern by some, BUT I have had an issue!! SO, I'm reviewing EARLY. Within a MINUTE I was back in business. Wow! (maybe if I'd read the 'instructions' first!!) Great Product, Great Service from Amazon, Great CUSTOMER SUPPORT FROM CCRANE!!! Yes, I would recommend it, and buy it all over again for myself! If you have Prime this is a good idea because these two radios are very close and what is important to me might not be important to you. The most important attribute for me was FM stereo sound quality in headphones. The Sangean wins hands down. The sound is much wider and richer and the bass boost is like the loudness switch of yesterday. The CC Pocket sound is very narrow and, well, boring. The CC Pocket sounds fine, until you try the Sangean. I was testing with on ear headphones. The rotary volume dial on the CC Pocket is not as useful as the Sangean push-buttons, especially when walking the dog with the radio in your pocket. More than once I likely shaved years off my hearing by bumping that little volume wheel and momentarily deafening myself. The Sangean pushbuttons are much better. In my area the CC Pocket did a better job of picking up the NOAA stations, but that is not a deal breaker here in the Pacific Northwest. The Sangean is a little taller and heftier and feels like a more quality product. The Sangean can run on rechargeable batteries that charge right in the radio with the included charger. That is handy. The Sangean display is nicer and easier to read in all conditions. However the Sangean has the soft mute feature which did work on some stations (not all). Notice there is no mention of sensitivity and selectivity here. I did not have an issue with either radio picking up stations that were strong enough to enjoyably listen to.

We can sometimes get it to come on if we hold it down for a long time, but who wants to hassle with that. Prior to this problem it worked great. Now I have to figure out how to return it for repairs. My original 2 star review is below and was written after a company rep told me via email that batteries draining within a few weeks while 'off' was normal. A later follow-up with a different rep resulted in a new unit being sent to me. This unit is performing much better. Its been 7 weeks with the unit 'off' the vast majority of the time and the battery gauge is still showing 'full'. Good product - I would recommend. Original review: What I like about this radio: Solid construction. Controls are easier than the old Sangean I have. Sound and reception are just fine for a handheld. What I don't like about this radio: uses way too much power when 'off'. Fresh duracells last less than 3 weeks with the radio off. A service rep for the company told me (essentially) that this was the expected performance. This may not be a big problem if you're using it a lot. I don't and it chews the batteries much faster than my old Sangean. Of course I can remove the batteries whenever I put it in the drawer. I didn't need to do this on the old Sangean and the batteries lasted many months. UPDATE: A different service rep from the company told me that the battery drain I experienced is not normal and sent me a replacement unit. This was handled well. I have the new unit and I'm checking it for battery life. I will update this review with results when I have them.
